Full Lyrics

Because you demanded it, the lyrical notes are below. And nowhere in there does she say Friday comes before Thursday.  Don't know where you people get that. Seriously! Have fun, fun, fun.

(Yeah, Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ark)
Oo-ooh-ooh, hoo yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah, yeah, yeah

[Rebecca Black - Verse 1]

7am, waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein’ everything, the time is goin’
Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s rushin’
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends)

Kickin’ in the front seat
Sittin’ in the back seat
Gotta make my mind up
Which seat can I take?

It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend
Friday, Friday
Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend

Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Fun, fun, fun, fun
Lookin’ forward to the weekend

[Rebecca Black - Verse 2]

7:45, we’re drivin’ on the highway
Cruisin’ so fast, I want time to fly
Fun, fun, think about fun
You know what it is
I got this, you got this
My friend is by my right
I got this, you got this
Now you know it

Kickin’ in the front seat
Sittin’ in the back seat
Gotta make my mind up
Which seat can I take?

[Chorus]

It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend
Friday, Friday

Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend

Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Fun, fun, fun, fun
Lookin’ forward to the weekend

[Bridge]

Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today i-is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)
We-we-we so excited
We so excited
We gonna have a ball today

Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after...wards
I don’t want this weekend to end

[Rap Verse]

R-B, Rebecca Black
So chillin’ in the front seat (In the front seat)
In the back seat (In the back seat)
I’m drivin’, cruisin’ (Yeah, yeah)
Fast lanes, switchin’ lanes
Wit’ a car up on my side (Woo!)
(C’mon) Passin’ by is a school bus in front of me
Makes tick tock, tick tock, wanna scream
Check my time, it’s Friday, it’s a weekend
We gonna have fun, c’mon, c’mon, y’all

[Chorus]

It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend
Friday, Friday
Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend

Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Fun, fun, fun, fun
Lookin’ forward to the weekend

It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend
Friday, Friday
Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend

Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
Fun, fun, fun, fun
Lookin’ forward to the weekend

Why was yesterday Thursday and today is Friday?

Patrice "Pato" Wilson, the CEO of Ark Music Factory gives LA Times a full interview and here's the breakdown:

What's up with the name?
"based on the idea of Noah's ark. In other words, a place to gather people together, where they could be safe."

What's up with Friday?
"It was on a Thursday night, but I finished it on Friday morning. And I knew it was silly, you know? 'Tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards.' I mean, everybody knows that, obviously, but I wanted the song to be simple and kind of sweet. People talk so much about how silly or stupid the lyrics are, but pop songs, they're meant to be catchy and to tell things in a simple kind of way. I feel bad that Rebecca has been getting so many people criticizing the song. Because it was me that wrote it."

How much do you charge people?
"I'm getting a lot of criticism saying I'm exploiting rich kids and their parents, but find me another company that would do all this at a cost this low. I don't promise anyone fame. In fact, if someone approaches me with their only goal to 'get famous,' I tell them they're not in this for the right reasons."

Why do you do what you do?
"I want to give these kids who love to sing and perform a chance to work in a studio, a chance to be in front of a camera and in front of an audience. I'm not in this to make millions. I just want to help these kids make their dreams come true on some level. And I'm not trying to exploit anyone."

What's the title of Rebecca's next single?

She won't tell, but she gives us clues:

"I like the fact I am singing like a 13-year-old girl, not trying to be anything else..."

"I would consider some teenage love songs but I want to keep it appropriate and clean. People were saying, 'You're the worst singer, this is the worst song.' They criticized my voice and the lyrics. But I call them negative Nancies. They can try to rain on my parade but as far as I'm concerned they are raining on their own parade."

Cannot wait!

Lady Gaga pays a little respect to her young competition. Rebecca now has over 42+ million views on YouTube. Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way" so far has 24+ million views. Her interview with Google executive Marissa Mayer she says this about Rebecca:

Warning: Video over 70 minutes.

Did Rebecca Black Lip Synch 'Friday' on 'Jay Leno'?

Not sure if the DVR was playing the audio out of sync with the picture, but did I just see a major flop on Jay Leno? I'm not sure. Watch for yourself how music track on "Friday" began before Jessica even had the microphone in her hands. Weird stuff. Glad it's almost Friday!

Rebecca Black on Leno tomorrow night

A tweet from Rebecca: "Also, catch me on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night!"

Stay tune!  Check your local listings.

Rebecca feels "cyberbullied"

Rebecca says she feels "cyberbullied" and says she's received death threats. How could you not feel that way with all the mean comments floating out there. The media is pretty harsh as well.

SFGate.com wrote late last week that "Friday" "... may be the ultimate combination of horrible lyrics, horrible songwriting, horrible auto-tuning (apparently to hide horrible singing), horrible cameos (c'mon, USHER!?!), horrible visual effects, horrible dancing and horrible horribleness. It's so horrible, people are wondering whether the production is real or if it's an elaborate joke."

Justin Bieber referenced her "Friday" lyrics in a tweet: "sunday comes after saturday? weird"

Nicole Richie tweeted: "Rebecca Black is DOPE! I'm gonna support her music, her work, & her dream.... But still make Friday jokes."

Simon Cowell Loves Rebecca Black

"I love her the fact that she's gotten so much publicity," Cowell tells People. "People are so upset about the song, but I think it's hysterical... I want to meet her. Anyone who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet. I love people like that."

Special shout-out from Willow Smith

Big support coming from Willow Camille Reign Smith. Will Smith should be proud of her for supporting an underdog like Rebecca.

Haters gonna hate

Why people gotta hate? Come on people, she's only 13!

A comment from one hater:
"I hope you cut yourself, and I hope you get an eating disorder so you'll look pretty. And I hope you go cut and die."
